BCHL Christian Character Awards
Every year at the end of the season, coaches from each of our BCHL divisions are asked to nominate a player from their team who best exemplifies the spirit of our league. These nominations are then reviewed by the division convenor and the league executive to select a recipient for each of the BCHL Christian Character Awards listed below which is then presented to the final nominee at the season windup. All runner-up nominees are also recognized.
The focus of these awards is not about who is the best hockey player, but about the player who makes a great teammate and who is a joy to coach. This is a player that regardless of skill level; demonstrates a love for the game; is enthusiastic; respectful; unselfish; positive; encourages his/her team-mates; listens to instruction; shows up regularly and on time for games; is attentive to BCHL PowerPlays; and in general, demonstrates admirable qualities and sportsmanship representative of good Christian character, both on and off the ice, that sets an example for all of our players to follow.
