PowerPlays are a vital part of our league.

We
provide a great opportunity for kids ages 4 to 18 to play and enjoy the greatest
game on earth.

We are
a mixed league (girls and boys) in all age divisions.

a non-contact league.

non-denominational.

We are
about equal opportunity for ALL players to enjoy the game and improve their
skills, regardless of playing experience and ability.

The
principles of 'Family' are important to the character of our league

We strive to strike a
balance between providing a quality hockey program and experience for our league
families while keeping registration and other costs to a minimum in an effort to
keep the opportunity to play hockey within the reach of most families.

We do not put an
emphasis on burdening our league family with fund raising activities.
|
|
We recognize that
family schedules are very busy these days. We try to minimize the impact
of weekly hockey time on the family schedule so kids can enjoy the experience of
playing this great game without requiring a heavy time commitment that might
otherwise prevent families from being able to participate.

Games
are only played on Saturdays. No games on Sundays. Practices range from
two per season for Timbits (ages 4-6) to eight per season in Midget (ages
15-18).

For those players and
families who want more ice time and competitive play beyond our regular league
program, we introduced the option of our "North" division in the 2006/2007
season which is our select tournament team division that players must try out
for. Our North division practices every other week and represents BCHL in
tournaments with other non-contact leagues.

We do
not tolerate abusive or demeaning language by anyone to anyone. Coaches,
parents and players are encouraged to provide positive support to players on all
teams at all times.

|
We rely
on a great bunch of volunteer parent executives, coaches, assistant coaches,
trainers, and referees to carry out the mission and operation of our league.
